After breakfast and check-out, transfer to the airport for your flight to Paro. Upon arrival in Paro, begin your sightseeing tour with a visit to Buddha Dordenma (Buddha Point), where a giant Buddha statue overlooks the valley and offers breathtaking panoramic views. Continue to Motithang Takin Preserve, commonly known as the Takin Mini Zoo, a small reserve where you can see Bhutan’s unique national animal, the takin, in a natural forested setting. breakfast lunch dinner
Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a morning tour in Thimphu. Begin with a visit to the National Memorial Chorten, a sacred Buddhist stupa built in memory of Bhutan’s third king. Continue to Tashichho Dzong, an impressive fortress that serves as the seat of the government and the central monastic body. Next, stop at the Bhutan Post Office Headquarters where you will have the opportunity to view and purchase unique Bhutanese commemorative stamps. Visit the Jungshi Handmade Paper Factory to learn about the traditional process of handmade paper production. Later, drive to Punakha (approximately 2.5 hours), with a stop at Dochula Pass to enjoy tea or coffee while taking in the panoramic Himalayan views. Continue your journey with a visit to Chimi Lhakhang, a fertility temple dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kuenley, also known as the “Divine Mad Monk.” Overnight in Punakha.
Morning visit to Punakha Dzong, which lies between two rivers known as Phochu and Mochu, symbolizing the masculine and the feminine co-existence their currents are of different colors and they unite at this point. After an early breakfast, enjoy a scenic hike of about two hours to the iconic Paro Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest Monastery), dramatically perched on a rocky cliff with a beautiful cascading waterfall nearby. After the hike, continue to visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the few surviving temples from the original 108 built by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo in the 7th century. Later, visit a traditional Bhutanese Farmhouse Experience to experience the lifestyle of a local farming family and learn about Bhutanese rural traditions. In the evening, enjoy a cultural show at the hotel before an overnight stay in Paro.
Breakfast at the hotel and check out, followed by a transfer to the airport for your flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, proceed with the day’s sightseeing beginning at Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a well-preserved UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient temples, palaces, and traditional Newari architecture. Continue to Nagarkot Hill Station, one of the best viewpoints to admire the Himalayan range, including views of Mount Everest and other snow-capped peaks of eastern Nepal on clear days. Afterwards, check in to the hotel and enjoy free time to relax and take in the scenic surroundings.
After an early breakfast, wake up to enjoy a beautiful sunrise over the Himalayas before proceeding with the day’s tour. Visit Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Patan, known for its historic royal palace complex and exquisite Newar architecture. Continue to Kumari Ghar (Kumari House), the residence of the Living Goddess Kumari, where visitors may catch a glimpse of her during specific viewing times (subject to availability; tipping is customary). Next, visit the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal’s most important Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva. Afterwards, explore Boudhanath Stupa, the largest stupa in Nepal and one of the most significant Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the world. In the evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before transferring to the airport for your departure.
