After breakfast, you will visit the modern and colonial parts of Lima, known as the City of Kings, starting at the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. You will pass by a huaca, an ancient pre-Inca sacred archaeological site, before heading to the Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Centre protected area. Here, you will walk along some of the most historically important streets of the city leading to Plaza de Armas de Lima, where you will have time to take photos of the impressive colonial architecture surrounding the square. You will also have the chance to view an iconic historical building that has served Lima’s citizens for centuries. You will then visit Convento de Santo Domingo, an impressive colonial-style religious monument. After exploring the Historic Center, you will proceed to Larco Museum, which houses the incomparable Treasures of Ancient Peru private collection showcasing pre-Columbian art and history. breakfast
At scheduled time, you will be transferred to the airport to board your local flight to Cusco, the Imperial City and a UNESCO World Heritage Centre site. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for rest and acclimatization to the high altitude. Later in the afternoon, you will start your city tour at San Pedro Market, where you can explore colorful local produce, flavors, and Andean culture. The tour continues to Qorikancha Temple, an ancient Inca palace dedicated to the Sun God, later converted into a colonial church by the Dominicans. You will then continue ascending to Sacsayhuamán, an impressive example of Inca military stone architecture. Afterwards, you will visit Qenqo Archaeological Site, where important Inca ceremonies were once performed. The tour ends at Plaza de Armas Cusco, where you will visit Cusco Cathedral, the most important temple in the city. breakfast
After breakfast, you will travel towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas and visit Maras Salt Mines, where the finest traditional salt in Peru is still harvested using ancient methods. On the way, you will stop at Raqchi Viewpoint, which offers spectacular views of the Sacred Valley landscape. You will then visit Misminay Community, where villagers will welcome you with traditional music and dance performances. You will learn about Andean family lifestyles by participating in daily community activities before enjoying a traditional lunch prepared using local ingredients. The visit continues to Moray Archaeological Site, famous for its circular agricultural terraces once used by the Incas as a botanical experimentation center. breakfast lunch
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Ollantaytambo Train Station to board the Expedition Train to Machu Picchu, one of the most important energy centers and archaeological wonders in the world. Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes, you will be driven to the archaeological site for a guided tour where your professional guide will explain the history, architecture, and mystery surrounding this sacred Inca city. After the tour, you will have free time to explore, relax, or take photographs before descending to Aguas Calientes for lunch. You will transfer to the airport for your flight to Galápagos Islands. Upon arrival at Baltra Island Airport, you will be met by naturalist guides and board the Galapagos Legend.
